Machinery Control Systems (MCS) Engineering

In support of US Navy MCS designs, ECS provides acquisition planning, specification development, resolution of detail design and production issues and life cycle management planning. Specific tasks include specification development, cost estimating, manning analysis, technical support during MCS Preliminary and Critical Design Reviews, technical reviews of Engineering Change Proposals, Human Machine Interface design analysis, detailed reviews of MCS based technical documentation including drawings and MIL-STD- 1679, DOD-STD- 2167A, DOD-STD-498 and IEEE 12207 software documentation, review of test and trials documentation, development of Life Cycle support documentation include the Computer Resources Life Cycle Management Plan (CRLCMP) and the development of Point Papers detailing specific system anomalies and proposed solutions. ECS professionals also participate at all levels of Factory Acceptance Testing and Trials for MCSs including the review, screening and preparation of recommended responses to INSURV Trial Cards.
