US NAVY AWARDS ELECTRONIC CONSULTING SERVICES (ECS) SEAPORT-E CONTRACT
Fairfax, VA - June 3, 2005 - ECS, Inc., a SBA certified small disadvantaged business contractor and professional services firm, announced today that the U.S. Navy has awarded the company an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) Multiple Award Contract (MAC) under the SeaPort Enhanced (SeaPort-e) acquisition program.
SeaPort-e was designed to facilitate performance-based service acquisition of support services for all phases of weapon systems acquisition and life cycle support including research and development support, prototyping, acquisition logistics, modeling, test and evaluation trials, and engineering support for the Naval Sea Systems Command, Naval Air Systems Command, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, Naval Supply Systems Command, Military Sealift Command, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Strategic Systems Programs, and the United States Marine Corps.
The Government estimates a maximum of $5.3B of services will be procured per year via orders issued under the SeaPort-e multiple award contracts given to small businesses. The contract award has a four-year base period with one five-year award term and one additional one-year award term. Responding to the award, ECS President Mr. Roy Kapani stated, “This award represents a significant opportunity for ECS to increase its presence in support of the U.S. Navy and its vital role in homeland security.
